The effect — what they see
You take a shuffled deck behind your back and have the spectator cut off a packet and secretly count it. After they bury their packet in the middle of the deck with a single cut and square everything carefully, you bring the deck forward. Though you never saw the count, you reveal exactly how many cards they cut off.
